Guardian Long Range – Ireland
September 28 - September 29
Guardian Long Range – Ireland Event Information
The Guardian Long Range Competition is a full day precision shooting event that offers opportunities to test your skill with a rifle and compete for prizes and bragging rights. This is our first international match, and we are honored to have it being hosted at the Midlands National Shooting Centre. Since 2014, the Guardian has raised over $500,000 for orphans and foster kids. Our hope to make international Guardian matches an annual tradition!
Charity Dedicated to Kids & Families
100% of the registration proceeds of this competition will go toward Bethany Christian Services, America’s largest nonprofit organization caring for orphans and vulnerable children on five continents. 100% of the raffle raised will go to the Ronald McDonald House of Ireland, an organization dedicated to helping families stay together while their children are undergoing hospitalization due to major illness.
It’s highly recommended that you download this Frequently Asked Question document. Over the past several months, we have compiled an FAQ document with over 40 answers and resources to help you.
We have set a firm deadline of May 1, 2019 to be registered for this match. This is due to the turnaround times of required certificates/documents from various nations Customs agencies, and Ireland’s police department. There is no registration deadline for resident shooters of Ireland.
Day 1 (Saturday September 28)
This day will be a traditional Guardian format where you will shoot the match as an individual. Prizes for top shooters, and raffle prizes are awarded at the conclusion of the match. Shooters will be in pre-determined squads of up to 12 shooters who will be engaging steel targets out to 1,000 yards. Top 3 shooters will earn trophies, along with best shooter in LE/MIL, .308, and female categories. Raffle table is open to the entire audience where $5 raffle tickets earn you chances at winning amazing prizes from our sponsors.
Day 2 (Saturday December 29)
At the conclusion of day 1, shooters will also be given their 2-man team assignments for day 2. These teams will be comprised of 1 US shooter, and 1 International shooter. These 2-man teams will be randomly assigned based on day 1 finishing. With the highest scoring shooter of the US being paired up with the lowest scoring International shooter to shoot as a 2-man team, this pattern will continue through the entire roster until each shooter is paired up with partner. This format will create parity, along with forcing shooters to quickly collaborate across diverse weapon systems and cultural lines. There will be a focus on effective communication and teamwork. The Course of Fire for the 2nd day will go through a similar course of fire as day 1, but shooting as a team. Prizes will be awarded for top 2 teams.
Shooters will engage targets out to 1000 yards. Target will be reactive steel targets, and a shot anywhere on the target’s plate will be counted as a hit. Exact distances and format will be provided to the shooters prior to the match.
Bring 200 rifle rounds for the entire match. You may want to bring some extra ammunition to confirm zero.
One of the unique benefits of this competition for US shooters is that your donation is tax-deductible. Once Bethany Christian Services has received your payment, they will mail you a receipt that you can use for your tax deductions.
